about BabySync

When a family does not sleep, well-being is at risk.

BabySync is an AI-powered project designed to support maternal mental health and family well-being by synchronizing the biological rhythms of mothers, babies, and the wider family system.

The project responds to one of the most overlooked realities of early parenthood: chronic sleep deprivation, fragmented daily rhythms, and the profound impact exhaustion has on mothers’ mental health, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

Why BabySync exists

After childbirth, many women experience long-term disrupted sleep with little opportunity for true recovery. Babies wake irregularly, nights blend into days, and family routines often collapse. The result is not only physical exhaustion, but increased anxiety, emotional overload, and the feeling that a mother must cope alone.

Despite this, most existing technologies focus either on the baby or the mother in isolation. The family as a connected biological system has largely been ignored.

BabySync fills this gap.

How it works

BabySync uses artificial intelligence to learn from data provided by the mother, the baby, and other caregivers. Instead of controlling behavior or enforcing rigid routines, the system offers gentle, personalized recommendations at moments when families are most vulnerable.

The goal is not optimization for performance, but restoration of a shared rhythm.

Newborns do not yet have a stable circadian rhythm, it develops gradually during the first months of life. BabySync supports this sensitive process by helping align the emerging rhythm of the baby with the biological rhythm of the mother. Even small improvements in synchronization can significantly reduce maternal exhaustion and stabilize the functioning of the entire family.

Founders

BabySync was founded by three women entrepreneurs who met in 2025 at the Top Female Founders Summer School in Vienna, where a group of nine women worked intensively on technology-driven projects with social impact. Three of them went on to found BabySync.

Our approach to AI

At BabySync, artificial intelligence is not used to increase pressure, control behavior, or demand performance.

AI serves as a supportive tool, learning from real-life data to offer context-sensitive guidance when parents are tired, overwhelmed, and in need of support. The technology is designed with empathy, ethics, and sustainability at its core.

Our vision

We believe that sleep, mental health, and well-being are not individual problems, but relational and systemic ones.

By helping families reconnect their biological rhythms, BabySync aims to protect maternal mental health, support healthier early development for children, and contribute to more resilient families.
