Life’s too short for boring learning.
Univerzitní výuka na téma well-beingu dostupná všem.

Hi beautiful students,
you are about to take a short questionnaire that helps you see how you are doing across the main areas of your well-being. In each area you will simply move the slider to show where you are right now, imagining zero as your lowest point and ten as your best possible scenario, choosing the place that feels true for you lately. At the end you will see your results displayed as a flower shaped graph where each petal shows how you are doing in the ten main areas of your well being. The questionnaire is completely anonymous and follows all ethical standards of university research. Your answers help us understand what students truly need at university and how we can show up better for you, so THANK YOU for our help and enjoy this fun activity!
Uniwellsity is here for you and this short activity helps you understand how you are really doing across the main areas of your well being. Each area tells you something important about your energy, your habits, your relationships, your sense of direction and the way you feel in your daily life. The reflection you just completed shows you where things are going well and where you might want to take gentle steps forward. On our website you will find simple guidance and ideas for every area, so you can explore what supports you, what strengthens you and what helps you feel more like yourself. Take a moment to look around, follow what interests you and let this be the beginning of understanding what you need to feel well and live well.

I haven't been looking forward to going to school like I was for these classes for a long time. I wish I had more! Thank you for the new knowledge about health, which I manage to apply to my life to better manage the pressure of the 5th grade :)

This class opened my eyes and helped me to change the perception of many parts of each individual's everyday life and impacts of those behaviors. This class influenced me a lot. Thank you!

What I appreciate the most is that this class, thanks to the teacher Jana's approach, became my favorite class. The lectures were playful, interactive and very entertaining. Thanks to teacher’s educating style, I memorized much more information compared to other classes. I am sad this course ends.
Student Well-being
Your well-being results are based on a model that helps you understand the ten main areas that shape your daily life. The foundations of this model were introduced by Martin Seligman who created the PERMA framework, Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment, as the core pillars of human flourishing. Later, Donaldson and colleagues expanded this work into PERMA plus four by adding physical health, mindset, environment and financial well-being to better reflect the realities of student life. In 2022 Jana Kočí added the dimension of authenticity which led to the PERMA5 model and offered students a simple way to understand how living truthfully supports well-being. This approach is also developed in the book Well-Being and Success for University Students: Applying PERMA+4 by Jana Kočí and Scott Barry Donaldson, published by Routledge, which brings these ideas together into clear and practical guidance for students.
What is PERMA and why we follow this structure of well-being
Through our experience with university students we learned that well-being grows most naturally when we begin with stability and then move step by step toward deeper psychological and personal development. This understanding is aligned with the work of Abraham Maslow who described human needs as a beautifully layered structure, beginning with physiological foundations and gradually expanding toward higher levels of personal meaning and self-realisation.
When basic needs are met, students gain the clarity and energy to explore relationships, cultivate positive emotions, strengthen their mindset and develop resilience. As they continue on this path, they build the capacity for achievement, purpose and ultimately authenticity. This natural progression allows students to flourish in a way that is sustainable, grounded and deeply human.
By following this logic we support our students in building well-being that does not rely on momentary techniques but grows from a stable foundation of understanding, awareness and self-leadership. Each building block prepares the way for the next one which creates a sense of flow, safety and direction.

Connection to Maslow’s perspective
Abraham Maslow described human needs as interconnected layers that unfold gradually as the individual grows. We support this perspective by helping students understand that their well-being begins with their bodies, their sense of safety and their ability to function in daily life. Once these foundations are strong, students naturally open to connection, joy, engagement, resilience, achievement, purpose and authenticity.
This approach empowers students to see their development as a journey where each level of growth builds on the previous one and makes the next one possible. It is a compassionate and science based way to help students navigate their lives, especially in a world that is complex, fast and sometimes overwhelming.
