Well-being Specialist Certification
Building a culture of well-being starts with the people students meet every day. The BEwell Specialist Certification is designed for anyone at the university who wants to support student well-being—including faculty, leadership, counselors, student affairs professionals, advisors, administrative staff, librarians, residence life staff, IT teams, facilities staff, and every member of the university community.
The certification is flexible and can be delivered in person, online, or in a blended format. Institutions may choose an intensive three day training or spread the program across several shorter sessions to best fit participants' schedules. The certification combines scientific foundations, practical workshops, experiential learning, guided shadowing and practice with supervision, allowing participants to gradually build both confidence and practical teaching skills.
During the program, participants will learn:
-
The science of well-being and positive psychology
-
Jana Kočí's evidence based methodology for teaching well-being
-
How to facilitate the full 13 lesson BEwell course
-
How to lead experiential activities, reflection, and group discussions
-
How to create psychologically safe and engaging learning environments
-
How to support motivation, resilience, and healthy habits
-
How to work with the BEwell educational platform and teaching materials
-
How to interpret well-being reports and use course outcomes to support participants and evaluate program impact
After successfully completing the program, participants receive the Certified BEwell Specialist certificate and become qualified to deliver the BEwell educational program within their institution or organization. Graduates also become part of the international BEwell Specialist network, with access to continuing education, new teaching materials, implementation support, and future professional development opportunities.
